Welcome! Read weekly blog entries here!
My name is Jeff Timmons and I have participated in the CIBC Run for the Cure supporting the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation since 2007. Each year I promised to run in the main event (5K race) in addition to completing extra activities if my supporters would make generous donations to the foundation. Adding an extra 10K or 1/2 marathon races throughout the year was standard…even running in a pink dress happened on occasion!
In 2013, I climbed to the top of the tallest free-standing mountain in the world – Mt. Kilimanjaro – to help raise more awareness and funds for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. The successful climb was completed on October 10th, and I was raised over $7,400 for the charity.
To celebrate the 1 year anniversary of reaching the summit of Kilimanjaro, I’m announcing a new challenge to friends, family, and colleagues! I’ve created my own climb challenge to bring a group of people to the top of Kilimanjaro so they too can experience Kilimanjaro first hand while raising funds for a worthwhile cause.
Follow our journey fundraising to the top! The team will undergo intense training for the next 12 months to prepare for the climb, while searching for donations to help the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
Thanks in advance,
